Our recreational programmes are designed to suit all children. These classes develop balance, strength, coordination, flexibility and agility whilst also allowing their confidence to naturally grow. Your child will learn the foundations to executing gymnastics skills correctly and safely.
In order to accommodate children from the same family being able to come to the same class time, our classes are mixed age groups from 5 to 12 years. However, they are divided up into groups within the class according to age so that the lesson is age-appropriate. For 3-5 year-olds, we have three class times - 3pm Tuesday, and 10am & 11am on Saturdays.
Parent & Toddler gymnastics sessions coming in September.
Gymnastic classes for teens coming in September, depending on demand.
For adult classes, see more info below. For all class times, see our timetable.
Your gymnast will be introduced to skills/ areas such as balance, coordination, teamwork, performance, flexibility, strength, key gymnastics shapes, jumping, landing, falling, and getting them comfortable with turning upside down. They will learn the foundations to executing gymnastics skills correctly and safely, e.g. how to perform skills with straight arms, straight legs and pointed feet.
Examples of skills we will work on in their first term include: jumping onto the vault, swinging on bars, balances on the beam, rolls and shapes on floor, as well as progression onto handstands, cartwheels and bridges according to their ability. As they improve, we progress onto bridge kick-overs, drop back to bridge, handstand forward roll, round-offs, etc.
As we assess gymnasts who are progressing well, we have an option to move into one of our Pre-Advanced or Advanced Classes where they will work on walkovers, aerials, handsprings, etc. We have two Advanced Classes for girls as well as an Advanced Boys group.
Our Trojan adult classes are suitable for complete beginners as well as for former gymnasts. We hold coach-led sessions in our training centre. A great way to keep fit, work on some skills and maintain strength and flexibility. Adult classes are led by our fantastic Head Coach, Stas.
Adult classes will return in July.
Trojan offers week-long camps that are run through the mid-term breaks and the summer. These are a great opportunity for children to quickly advance through all the basics and build up their strength, balance, and flexibility. Camps also allow more time for the real fun stuff such as games and gymnastic displays.
We offer the opportunity for schools to come to our facility. The students will use all gymnastic apparatus, learn some new skills, all while exercising and having fun. As gymnastics is an individual sport and they will do the session in their class pod, it is a perfect Covid-friendly fitness activity.
Our competitive programme is for gymnasts who are ambitious and have displayed the necessary skillset. Gymnasts for our competitive squad are selected through our recreational program. They train to compete at national competitions with Gymnastics Ireland and towards making it onto national squads.
